General Professional Background Mr. Daponde has experience handling a wide range of commercial lawsuits. Mr. Daponde has examined and/or defended more than 100 witnesses in administrative trials, arbitrations, court proceedings, and depositions. He has experience in all phases of litigation in state and federal court, from investigation to discovery and motion practice through trial and appeal. He has argued successfully in numerous state and federal trial courts.
Areas of Current Emphasis
Mr. Daponde represents health plans in disputes concerning government contracts and government programs. He is well versed in administrative law and procedure, having participated in a number of administrative trials before state agencies, including the California Department of Health Care Services. In addition, Mr. Daponde has advised clients on various matters involving political law (including the laws regulating initiatives), and has helped clients challenge ballot measure language. Mr. Daponde also has state appellate court experience.
