Wilke Fleury Makes Strategic Addition To Healthcare Practice

Curtis Leavitt has joined the Wilke, Fleury’s Business Litigation and Healthcare practice. Mr. Leavitt was formerly with the healthcare practice of a large national law firm and was also Assistant Chief Counsel with the California Department of Managed Health Care.

Mr. Leavitt has practiced in the private and public sectors for sixteen years and has litigated numerous cases involving managed care liability, contracted and non-contracted provider disputes, enforcement and license revocation or discipline issues. He represents health plans and health insurers before federal and state regulators, including the Social Security Administration, the Department of Managed Care, and the Department of Insurance. He received his undergraduate degree at UC Santa Barbara, and his law degree from Santa Clara University, School of Law. He is a resident of Folsom, California.

Although trained as a litigator, Mr. Leavitt often counsels clients on avoiding litigation and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. In addition, Mr. Leavitt has expertise in commercial healthcare contracting, ERISA and benefit determinations, COBRA obligations, Medicare and Medi-Cal requirements and Knox-Keen standards and licensing requirements.
