Elissa Niccum is an Associate with Wilke Fleury’s Healthcare transactional team. She is a talented attorney who is admitted to practice in both California and Hawaii. On a day-to-day basis, Elissa advises providers, pharmacies, health plans, insurers, and durable medical equipment companies on a wide variety of topics such as the corporate practice of medicine, the Knox-Keene Act, fictitious names, anti-kickback and patient inducement, HIPAA, and more. She frequently assists health care service plans and insurers with regulatory filings and statutory compliance. Elissa has also worked with companies looking to sell their medical practice or other business to respond to due diligence requests, correct documentation issues, and review contracts. Her passion is in taking complex legal questions and distilling her research down in a manner that helps clients understand not only what they need to do, but why. Prior to joining Wilke Fleury, Elissa worked as a law clerk with the California Medical Association and the Legal Services of Northern California, and most recently, as General Counsel for a healthcare company that owns several Bay Area pediatric subacute facilities and provides management services to medical practices.
When not practicing law, Elissa is an avid solo adventurer. She may be found backpacking through different countries, meeting new friends, doing cage-free shark dives, and climbing across glacial boulder fields. She is a collector of literature, a fan of all genres of music, and a passionate writer.
